Pimples are formed when Propionibacterium acnes bacterium infects the skin pore. Most common treatments for acne are antibiotics or a topical cream or wash containing the chemical benzoyl peroxide which associated with side-effects. Benzoyl peroxide often causes a burning sensation on the skin and irritation. Topical steroid creams are also used to treat acne which are associated with the development of acne-like lesions with their long term use. Researchers believe the best way to cure acne is to use natural remedies or natural creams.
These acne bacteria feed on sebum, but they become active when there is too much sebum on the skin. As sebum production declines, sebum begins to release essential fatty acids which are very toxic to acne bacteria but useful for the health of the skin. The skin normally eliminate both oil and acne bacteria if the pores on the skin surface are blocked, then they become a problem. Therefore it is important to use creams which will leave the skin pores open throughout the day. If there is no passage open (pores are clogged), acne bacteria find a way to break out of the pore releasing their offspring to another pore. By doing this, they secrete chemicals that redirect the immune system’s attack on healthy cells. This cause reddens and inflames the skin. At some point, some bacteria escape when the pimple bursts open. It is not good to mashing or squeezing pimples because doing this is, would presses bacteria into the skin so that healthy skin traps them inside the skin resulting to nodules and cysts. Squeezing, picking at, poking, and probing pimples just forces bacteria farther into the skin
